Beauty in a Penguin

F is pretty good at finding the right gift for me and he did really well this Christmas with these two beauties.
We spend Christmas lunch with his family and we do a $20 Kris Kringle and I received a voucher from a major bookstore.
I hate large bookstores with a passion, no one who works there seems to have any knowledge about the books themselves just where they can be found. So I tend to shop at my local small bookstore (a wonderful one called Lindfield Bookshop). Although I am a lawyer and worked as one for a long time, I also worked in publishing for a few years so I appreciate the love of books found in small independent bookstores.
Well I'm off to the major bookstore this afternoon to use my voucher because those beautiful penguins are on sale at half price, so I can increase my collection by four! Now, the quandary will be which one will I choose.

  1. Hi, I just found your blog via Ish & Chi :) I see we are both new bloggers. Your blog looks lovely and I can't wait to see what you have instore...Happy reading with your books!

  2. I LOVE these editions too, I'd love to fill a whole shelf with them, gorgeous!

  3. I love these. They've been on my wish list. Lucky you!

  4. Thank you everyone for your lovely comments, I feel very lucky indeed. I ended up buying Emma and Sense and Sensibility

  5. Have popped on over via Rubies Place for a visit. Ooh - I've seen these lovely covers on the Internet recently - they look great! I love your little Eiffel Tower too.

  6. Ohh these are beautiful! I've had to stay away from these instinctively, as I know it might be dangerous!

Love your new blog - delighted to read more about your trip away, too!
