Some Beautiful Reading

Do you remember these that F gave as a gift for Christmas last year? These are a part of a collection commissioned by Penguin Classics and designed by Coralie Bickford-Smith. There is a second collection which I have seen in bookstores.

I really love Coralie's design aesthetic and thought I would check to see what else she has done. And look at what I found, aren't they beautiful? I would really love them all, but I can't find them anywhere in Australia, so I'll admire from afar and dream of my shelves being full of these treasures.

And speaking of a beautiful read, I came across this yellow book a few months ago on this website (not sure what took me there, but I'm glad I found it). I would love this on my coffee table. I'm feeling pretty happy with where I am in life, so it would rightfully be on display.

My posts seem to be getting later and later (it is almost 7pm, J will be off to bed in 10mins). I am a very happy and very busy lady at the moment.
Have a happy day.

  1. What a beautiful post Engracia:) It is so lovely and refreshing to hear someone say that they are in such a happy place with their life:) I feel the same way, regardless of the little dramas that often happen in our home on a daily basis, I am the happiest I have ever been:) I love the books from your first pic as I am certain that post of yours, with those books, was the first or second post that I ever saw of yours, and I am so grateful to those books for guiding me to you! I sometimes wish I still lived on the North Shore. A coffee with you and Janette at the Coonanbarra cafe in Wahroonga would be just heavenly:) Wishing you the happiest week my sweet friend ~ Tina xx

  3. Beautifully designed!!! Have you tried the Book Depository for them or is that a silly question?

  4. Well, I have just judged a book by it's cover. I want to read them all!. Will keep my eye open for those. I have not seen them before.

  5. I love those books, I was drooling over them in a bookstore a few months ago. Must go buy some, how amazing would they be to pass down your children/grandchildren in the future (whilst enjoying them right now too!).
